Our group:

  • is part of an authentic and unbroken Buddhist tradition
  • belongs to the international network of over 720 centres for meditation in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism with the main teachers H.H. 17th Karmapa Thaye Dorje and Lama Ole Nydahl
  • is run by volunteers and functions through friendship and idealism.

We meet once a week for regular guided meditations. Buddhist meditation sessions are free and open to the public, everyone welcome. If you are coming for the first time, please let us know in advance, so we can make sure that you get the best introduction possible.

In addition to public meditation we run a number of different meditation events, public lectures and participate in regional and national meditation retreats.

Please note: Our public meditation takes place every Wednesday at 8pm, in the Elgar Room, at the Friends Meeting House (6, The Friars, Canterbury, CTI 2AS) email us at canterbury@dwbuk.org for more information.
